Financial and Retirement Planning Seminars
Retirement Matters
What do you need to know about retirement?
Let's evaluate your situation. Do you have the insight and experience to begin a retirement plan? Do you know where to start looking and what questions you should be asking? Are you aware of the financial planning process? Do you know what your net worth is, or how much you spend each month and on what? Are your financial records in order? Can you (or in case of your death or incapacitation, can anyone else) easily find important documents when needed? Do you have a will?
If you answered "no" to any of these questions, now's the time to get serious about your retirement planning.
"Retirement Matters" is an absolutely free educational seminar sponsored by the Houston Firefighters' Relief and Retirement Fund for both active and retired members. We'll guide you step-by-step through the various elements that go into a successful retirement plan, then we'll show you how they work together and how you can successfully manage them. All in clear, easy-to-understand language.
Some of the topics we'll cover are:
• Cash flow management
• Setting goals
• Preparing for risk
• Estate planning
• Pension benefits upon death
• Organizing financial and personal records
• Sources of retirement income
• DROP and Back-DROP
• Social Security
• Health benefits after retirement
Reservations must be made in advance. So if you have not attended a Retirement Matters Seminar, or you would like to attend again to receive updates, e-mail Tony L.
