The Board Of Trustees
Fund is governed by a 10-member Board of Trustees. Composition of the board is mandated by Texas law which states that five will be firefighters, two will be City of Houston citizens(elected by firefighter trustees), one will be the city treasurer, one will be a retired firefighter with at least 20 years of Fund participation, and one will be the mayor or his/ her representative.
These individuals ensure that all assets of the Fund are used for the exclusive benefit of the Fund's members. Although they volunteer many hours of their personal time in service to the Fund, they are not compensated for their time. They are truly dedicated men and women.
